Andrea Boyd is a Flight Controller at the European Astronaut Centre and Columbus Control Centre "Munich". She joined Space Application Services in Belgium as an ISS Operations Engineer three years ago. Previously, Boyd worked as a Mining Control Systems Specialist underground in the remote desert. Boyd co-presented the winning IAC2017 Adelaide bid and is one of the Australian of the Year Finalists for 2015. Having lived, worked and studied in over 60 countries, she sailed for a year on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean, taught basketball in Russia, created and filled the first internship at the Space Generation Advisory Council, co-founded Aerospace Futures, was a teacher at the South Australian Space School and National Space Camps, completed Space University in Russia, Space Station Design Workshop in Germany, MARS2013 Analogue in Morocco/Austria and assisted with World Space Week. Boyd graduated in Mechatronic Engineering from The University of Adelaide, Australia, specializing in robotics at Yeungnam University, South Korea, on the Prime Minister's Asia Australia Endeavour Scholarship.
