Klaus-Peter Willsch is a Member of the German Bundestag (the national parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany) and Chairman of the Aviation and Space Group. Willsch has been a Member of Parliament since 1998, serving as a regular member of the Committee on Finance from 1998 to 2002, a regular member of the Budget Committee from 2002-2013, and Chairman of the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) parliamentary group in the Budget Committee from 2009-2013. From 2005-2010, he was a Member of the Senate of the Fraunhomer-Gesellschaft, and in 2006 was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Science Center, Berlin. In addition to these roles, Willsch has also served as Representative of the German Bundestag for relations with the Croatian Parliament from 2002-2005; Chairman of the German-Croatian Parliamentary Friendship Group from 2006-2010 (continuing as deputy to present); Chairman of the Friends of Berlin Taipei, 2009-present; Chairman of the Parliamentary Group Aerospace Space, 2006-2009; and assessor in the Group Executive Board of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, 2002-present. Prior to service as a parliamentarian, Willsch was Mayor of Schlangenbad, Germany, from 1994-1998. He holds a Master's Degree in Economics and Political Science from University of Mainz.
