Sandy Johnson is President and CEO of Barrios Technology. Johnson was part of the group that formed Barrios Technology in 1980 and, in 1993; she purchased the company, returning Barrios to its roots, as a woman-owned small business. Under Johnson's leadership, Barrios Technology has continually held prime government contracts and has earned many awards, including twice receiving NASA’s George M. Low Award for Quality and Excellence, and being named NASA’s Woman-Owned Business of the Year in 2005. Johnson began her aerospace career as an engineer with McDonnell Douglas Corp. supporting the Skylab and Space Shuttle programs. Johnson is active in many charitable organizations; particularly those focused on education, and has received numerous awards for achievements in her community and as an entrepreneur. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Louisiana Tech University and an MBA from the University of Houston Clear Lake, both having recognized her as a Distinguished Alumnus.
